Feel it in the one drop...

Welcome to the illustration and web design of Neil Lawson. As with all things in life this is a work in progress. One drop of rain falls from the sky, meets another drop and together they become a bigger drop. Contained in this humble beginning is the power and majesty of an ocean. Before long there’ll be a shout of "Surf’s up!" and people will be running down the beach hoping to ride the waves. From one drop to another, I hope to mingle with you in the ocean before we all start over again as drops falling from the sky.

What goes on?

I like to know how things work and I like to be able to do things myself. It’s these impulses that gave birth to Onedrop. About two years ago I took the plunge and started using a computer to create images. Like a kid in a sweet shop I stuffed my face full of Photoshop® and Illustrator®. It wasn't long before I realised that I wanted to have a website — partly as a portfolio but more for the challenge of building one. I added Flash® to my bag o’tricks and scaled the learning curves of HTML and CSS to arrive at Onedrop.

What’s your story?

Perhaps you need an illustration? A website? Some written content? All of these? It’s possible I am the one man band for you. I can offer illustration, animation, copy writing, web design and web production (I build websites using CSS and web standards, and get dynamic with PHP). Come on in, the water’s lovely.

Riding the wave

There is a swelling. Having swum against the tide it’s now time to jump up and ride the wave all the way back to the beach. With the onedrop site finished I’m ready to get back to drawing pictures, making websites, and animating the next installment of Bastard Vicar. Surf’s up!

Over to you

Thanks for dropping in. I hope you'll have a pleasant splash around in my portfolio. I’d be very interested to hear from you if you’d like to comment on my work or the site.

And finally

Peace to everyone out there doing their own thing, individuality is a constant source of inspiration. Also a big thanks to my lovely wife endures my obsessive late-night computer geekery, you’re one in a million.

Mice are nice!

Here’s the first installment of the end of the world (as we know it). It’s time to say your prayers as Bastard Vicar hits the streets.

Getting physical

writers at work - the procrastinator

I write and edit copy for Expedia.co.uk and submitted this for their newsletter. I fear I may have revealed too much about my own 'clean’ style of writing.

You know it makes sense
